Aurora is a city located in Marion County, Oregon. It was named by Dr. William Keil (1811 - 1877) who founded the community after his daughter. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 655. For many years, Aurora was another business center for the farmers of its portion of the Willamette Valley, but beginning in the 1980s a number of antique stores opened in the old city center, and now form the principal commercial activity of the city.
